Fuel on board, the next stem and the price, on one desk.

NethuneX draws what is in the tanks from the noon reports, sends your enquiry to your suppliers from your own mailbox, compares their quotes grade by grade, and checks the delivery note against the ship's own figure.

The problem

Quotes in five layouts, and a delivery note nobody checks.

The enquiry goes to a handful of suppliers by email, and the replies come back in different layouts to be copied into a spreadsheet. When the barge casts off, the delivery note says one figure and the chief engineer measured another, and the difference is rarely chased.

What the office asks
  • Will the ship run short before the next stem?
  • Which supplier is cheapest on each grade we asked for?
  • Did we receive what the delivery note says?
  • Is the fuel on spec, and where is the sample?
How NethuneX handles it

From the burn-down to the sample, one record per stem.

Bunkering › Stems

The day the tanks run dry

Total fuel remaining on board is drawn per vessel from the noon reports, with delivered stems as steps up and the average daily burn projected forward. If the line reaches zero before the next stem, the vessel is flagged short.

Bunkering › RFQs

One enquiry, every quote side by side

The enquiry goes to each supplier as its own email from your connected mailbox, with port, window, grades and quantities, and 30 seconds to undo. Each reply is pasted in and read into the quote form for you to confirm, then compared grade by grade. A best price is only marked where two or more suppliers priced the grade. Awarding a quote creates the stem.

The delivery note, checked

The ship’s measured figure is set against the delivery note, grade by grade. A short delivery beyond a 0.5 % tolerance is flagged and priced, a notice of protest is drafted for the operator to review, and a claim opens with the figures already in it.

Samples, lab results and the claim

Every sample is logged with its type, seal number and each hand-off. Lab results are set against ISO 8217 reference limits and an off-spec result is flagged. A claim runs from notice of protest through the lab dispute and the supplier’s response to settlement, and locks once the protest is filed.

The Bunkering module: a burn-down chart of remaining fuel on board for each vessel, four of them flagged short before their next stem, and a price trend by fuel grade.

Rules and standards

What it helps you keep to.

Fuel samplesMARPOL Annex VI, Regulation 18
Each sample logged by type, MARPOL sample included, with its seal number and every hand-off in its custody.
Fuel specificationISO 8217:2017
Lab results set against the standard's limits for sulphur, viscosity, density, water, cat fines and flash point, shown as references, not a ruling.
Short deliveryNotice of protest
A shortfall beyond 0.5 % is priced and a notice of protest drafted for the operator to review and send.
