Crew
Crew is the seafarer register and the coverage console around it: who is on board, who relieves them and when, whether each ship is manned to its table, and which certificates are about to expire.
The screen
Four tabs: Coverage, People, Manning, Compliance.
Coverage is the default. The fleet coverage console shows every assignment over a 3, 6 or 12 month window — solid for active, dashed for planned, hatched for a gap or a certificate problem, with sign-offs and paired reliefs marked. The bars are clickable. Beside it: Relief departures — next 120 days, the Manning matrix (click a cell to filter), and On-call operations.
People lists the crew under a Relief Horizon panel. Search by name, rank or qualification; filter by vessel, department and status; tick Show discharged to include past crew. A link counts certificates expiring within 90 days.
Each person expands into ten tabs: Profile, Certificates, Sea Service, Medical, Appraisals, Travel, Leave, Assignments, Work/Rest, Shore Leave.
Manning is the safe-manning table per ship: rank, required, actually on board, status. Edit a row in place and Save.
Compliance shows the 90-day certificate expiry window across the fleet.
Adding a seafarer
Add Crew Member needs a full name; rank, department, vessel, rotation status, sign-on and sign-off dates and STCW notes can follow.
What it will and won't do
- The Medical tab is only shown to people with permission to read medical records. Without it, the tab is absent and a saved link to it lands on Certificates.
- Work/Rest and Shore Leave inside a person's record are read-only — they link out to their own modules where the entries are made.
- A warning appears on crew approaching the 11-month MLC contract limit.
- If an old vessel field on a record disagrees with the person's live assignment, the page says so and tells you which one coverage trusts: the assignment.
- Deleting a person is a two-step confirmation on the page, not a browser pop-up.
Rotation statuses: Unassigned, On Board, On Leave, Relief Pending, Discharged.
